Beautiful Sunyani

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to post an introductory message from Sunyani, Brong Ahafo Region, Ghana. I am here helping with Agroforestry to Enhance Resource-Poor Livelihoods (APERL) project. This is a CIDA Tier 1 project that is a collaboration between the University of Guelph and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Most project activities arise from the Faculty of Forest Resource Technology, the Sunyani campus of KNUST.

My intership involves helping with participatory planning elements of APERL (mostly concerning the engagement of women and youths in project activities). The bulk of my intership with concern the field research for my MSc. in Rural Planning and Development at the University of Guelph. My research will be a livelihoods analysis of households in one of the projects target communities, Ayakomaso.

I will add more details as the internship and research progress. I look forward to reading-up on the activities of my peers in Ghana and beyond.

All the best,

Andrea Ellis Nsiah
