Over the past three months I have been privileged to become part of the hardworking staff at Nkosi’s Haven: a holistic care facility for HIV positive mother’s, their children, and the resulting orphans (www.nkosishaven.org) . While this wonderful internship has recently ended for me (at least in my capacity to work on the ground), I have only just begun to process the tremendous value of this experience on a personal, academic, and professional level. As such, this first post will by no means be my last. This message, however, will simply serve as a short introduction as my jetlag still seems to take precedence over writing lengthy reflections. To view my post’s from the past three months in South Africa, however, please visit my personal blog at http://www.paintingmodernity.wordpress.com. Future posts will be featured on both my personal blog, and on the SDF blog.
Until then, sala kahle!
